Do you want to view your friend’s VR gameplay on your Roku TV? Then, the only way is to cast the Oculus Quest screen on your Roku TV. Unfortunately, Roku doesn’t have Chromecast built-in to cast from external devices. However, you can use the alternative ways below to cast the Oculus Quest 2 screen on Roku TV.

How to Cast Oculus (Meta) Quest 2 to Roku TV With Chromecast

Since the Roku TV doesn’t support the casting, you must connect a Chromecast dongle to the TV’s HDMI port. After that, change the input on your Roku TV to cast the Meta Quest screen.

Cast Oculus Quest 2 Directly from the Headset

The Oculus Quest 2 device is equipped with the Oculus button. So that you can directly cast the content from the Headset to the TV.

  • Turn on your Roku TV and Oculus Quest 2. After that, you have to press the Oculus button present on the right-hand controller.
  • It directs you to the home menu, where you have to select Share.
  • Select the Cast option shown and proceed by choosing your Roku TV in the active devices list.

Finally, your Oculus Quest’s screen will be displayed on your Roku TV to share your gameplay with others.

Using the Meta Quest App

In addition, you can also use the Meta Quest app installed on your smartphone to cast the VR headset content to Roku TV.

Remember that during the whole casting process, your smartphone and the Roku TV should be connected to the same WiFi network connection.

  • Install the Meta Quest app from the Play Store or the App Store and then Sign in to your account with the credentials.
    • For Android: Click on the Cast button shown at the top of the app and select your Roku TV to cast the video from the Oculus Quest 2 to the Roku TV.
    • For iPhone/iPad: Enable the AirPlay on Roku and then select the Cast button. Choose your Roku device to cast the screen from the VR device to the Roku TV.
Select Apple AirPlay and Homekit

Turn on the AirPlay Feature on Roku! Navigate to the Home Screen of the Roku → Go to Settings → Choose Apple AirPlay and Homekit → Turn on the AirPlay icon on the Roku TV.

How to Cast Oculus (Meta) Quest 2 to Roku TV Without Chromecast

If you don’t have a Chromecast dongle with you, then use the screen mirroring feature on Roku to mirror the Oculus Quest 2 content.

  • Install the Meta Quest app on your smartphone and sign in with account credentials.
  • After that, follow the below prompts to screen mirror the app to Roku TV:
    • For Android: Scroll down the Notification Panel on the phone and then click the Cast icon.
    • For iPhone/iPad: Pull down the Control Center on the iPhone/iPad. Tap on the Screen Mirroring icon shown on the screen.

  • Choose your Roku device from available devices to mirror the contents from the Oculus Quest 2 to the Roku TV.

These are the available methods to cast the Oculus Quest 2 screen to your Roku TV using wireless methods. Sometimes, your Roku device fails to recognize your Oculus Quest 2 device. In that case, check the internet connection and ensure both devices are connected to the same WiFI network and that it’s stable.
