When I try to enable the developer mode on my Roku device, I am getting error. I followed the steps mentioned by Roku and despite this, I could not use the feature. How can I activate my device or make it respond to the developer mode.
You will face this problem when you haven’t accepted the SDK License Agreement and create a web server password. If you have selected Cancel on the SDK License Agreement page, you are most likely not able to use the developer mode feature. To resolve this, start the procedure again using our guidelines given below.
1. Take the Roku remote and press the buttons mentioned below.
- Home button – 3 times
- Up button – 2 times
- Right button – 1 time
- Left button – 1 time
- Right button – 1 time
- Left button – 1 time
- Right button – 1 time
2. Then, note down the IP address and the Username shown on the Developer Settings screen. Select Enable installer and restart and select OK.
3. On the SDK License Agreement screen, click I Agree and create a web server password. Then, select Set password and reboot.
If you have accepted the SDK License Agreement and couldn’t access the Roku Development Application Installer page, it might be due to the incorrect web server password. Type the IP Address of the Roku on the search bar of a browser and hit Enter. On the pop-up menu, type Rokudev as username and enter the web server password you have created on Roku in the Password field to open the Roku Development Application Installer page. I hope this helps!!
