How to Delete a Roku Account

If you’re handling multiple Roku accounts, then delete the one that’s currently not in use. However, Roku doesn’t allow users to delete the account directly from the device’s settings. Instead, you can visit the Roku website to perform the action.

Steps to Delete the Account via the Roku Website

Before deleting your account, make sure you turn off auto-renewal and cancel subscriptions that you made through Roku. Once done, follow the steps below to close your Roku account.

1. Open the Roku official website on a smartphone or PC’s browser.

2. Locate and click on the Accounts icon. If there is no account option, select sign in and enter your credentials.

3. Scroll to My Account and select My Account.

4. On the next page, choose the Delete Account option under the Account section.

5. Enter the reason for deleting your Roku account in the asked field.

6. Finally, tap the Yes, delete account button. Thus, your account will be deleted.

Steps to Remove Your Account from Roku

Some users might prefer to remove their account from their Roku device rather than delete it. Though you can’t remove your account from your Roku device directly, you can do it in two alternative ways.

Unlink Your Device From Roku Account

1. Open a browser and head to the my.roku.com.

2. Enter your Roku account credentials and sign in.

3. Scroll down on the website until you reach the My Linked Devices options.

Note: My Linked Devices option will be available only if you have linked any of your devices with the respective account.

4. Once you get there, choose the Roku you wish to remove from this account.

5. Now, press Remove Device and select Unlink. Now, your account will be removed from the selected Roku device.

Factory Reset Roku to Remove Account

Factory resetting will erase all the data and information, including the account that you have linked to the device. You can factory reset your Roku device through the device settings or by locating the physical Reset button within the device.
