Solutions to Fix a Red Screen Issue on TCL Roku TV

The red screen on TCL Roku TV is not a serious issue; you can resolve it using the following workarounds.

Check the HDMI Cable Connections

The first step in troubleshooting the red screen issue on Roku is to check the HDMI cables connected to the TV. If there are any loose connections or damage to the cable and the port, your Roku TV may stuck with a red screen. So, make sure to examine for any damage and change the damaged cables to new ones. If the problem is with the HDMI port, then connect the dongle firmly to another port to fix the issue.

Connect the HDMI cable properly into TCL Roku TV to fix the red screen issue

Inspect the Power Supply

If the cable connections are good and your TV screen still indicates a red light, then you need to check the power supply of your Roku TV. Any fluctuations in the power source will make your TV function abnormally, thus resulting in the red screen issue. So, unplug your TV cord from the power socket, plug it into a different source, and see if there are no power fluctuations.

Tip! You can also use a surge protector to protect your TV from power surges.

Power Cycle the TCL Roku TV

Sometimes, temporary bugs or glitches on the TV may cause the red screen issue. This issue can be rectified by a simple restart on your Roku TV.

Restart your TCL Roku TV

Unplug the power cable from the source once you turn the TV off. Then, wait a few minutes to discharge the residual power. After that, plug the cord back in and power on your Roku TV. Now, check whether your TCL Roku TV has no red screen appearance.

Factory Reset the TCL Roku TV

Beyond the above fixes, factory resetting the Roku TV will be an effective solution for fixing the TCL Roku TV that has got stuck with the red screen. Once you reset your TV, it will erase all the data, files, and saved settings from the TV. So, think twice before implementing this process, and then proceed with it.

Choose the Factory Reset option

The reset process on a Roku device is quite simple, unlike others. Every Roku device model has a built-in Reset button that can be used to undergo the process within a second. Simply locate the Reset button or pinhole at the back of the device and press it using a paperclip or ballpoint pen. This will restart your device and will fix the problem. Alternatively, you can reset your Roku TV by navigating to the TV Settings and choosing the Factory Reset option under Advanced System Settings.

Check the Roku Device’s Backlight

In rare scenarios, the backlight on your Roku TV may be damaged, making the TV screen look red, black, or sometimes any other color. So, do a flashlight test and inspect the backlight of your TCL Roku TV. If you have difficulties finding the backlight damage, it is better to contact the support team to repair the damage.

Contact Roku Customer Support

If the above fixes didn’t help you get your TCL Roku TV back from the red screen, reach out to Roku customer support. You can contact the team via phone, email, or live chat to explain the problem. Once they diagnose the reason for the issue, the support team will reach out to you with the right solutions.
